REQUIREMENTS FOR DOG HOUSES FOR OUTSIDE DOGS:
    (A) Dog houses must be safe and protect dogs from outside elements, weather and affects, insects and other animals.
          A dog house is not shelter from heat. It poses a deadly risk to the dog as the heat inside a dog house can be much greater than the heat of the current surrounding outside temperature.
          All dog houses must be placed in shade and not in direct sun.
          Every outside dog is required to have a dog house, commercial or built to commercial standards.
          Dog houses must be weatherproof, flood-proof, hail proof, and windproof.
          Every dog house must have leak-proof roof, dry solid floor (2” above ground), four-sided with doorway.
          Dog house must repel wind, rain, snow, and hail.

PLACEMENT FOR OUTSIDE DOG HOUSES:
    (B) Dog houses cannot be set in direct sun.
          Dog houses must be placed in shade, natural or commercial.
          Dog houses are not protection from high temperatures, shade must be provided.
          Dog houses are not ultimate protection from freezing temperatures, additional insulation must be provided.
          Every dog house is required to be sturdy and stationary.
          Dog houses must be relative size to each dog, maintaining body heat during cold weather and be comfortable.
          Mother dogs are required to have comfortable area for convenience and care of puppies.

REQUIREMENTS FOR KENNELS:

    Kennel size for 1 or 2 small dogs or puppies is required to be a minimum of 20'x10'.
    Kennels are required to be at the minimum of 20'x20' per dog of medium or large size.
    Every kennel is required to be in the shade, either natural or commercial.
    Every kennel must have stationary dog house, food and water receptacle.
    Every kennel must be safe,secure and sanitary.
    Kennels on concrete slabs must have area that is padded for repose of dog(s).

REQUIREMENTS FOR TEMPORARY OUTSIDE RESTRAINT OF DOG:

    No dog can be tethered more than 1 hour at a time, day or night, and cannot exceed a maximum of 3 hours per 24 hour period.
    No dog can be temporarily tethered in extreme weather conditions without access to a dog house.
    Rain, snow, high winds, hail, cold degrees lower than 40 degrees or hot temperatures higher than 80 degrees are weather conditions that are considered “extreme”.
    Every dog is required to have a commercial grade dog collar.
    Chains, cables, rope or any tether is required to be attached to collar, any other means of attaching chain, etc. is prohibited.
    Every dog temporarily restrained outside must have access to water and shade.
    Every dog temporarily restrained outside must be located in dry safe area.
